SPRINGFIELD, Mo – You may be used to seeing food trucks driving around Springfield… but have you ever seen a flower truck?
A flower truck is a new business concept brought to the Ozarks by two very unique florists.
“This is Ozark Mtn. Flower Truck, it’s a mobile flower shop, with a 1970 Volkswagen single cab truck,” says Cassie Hartman, owner of Ozark Mtn. Flower Truck.
“Eden’s Flower Truck is a walk-in mobile flower boutique so people can come in, they can make their own arrangement or I can help them make one,” says Eden, owner of Eden’s Flower Truck.
Both Cassie and Eden were inspired to bring flower trucks to Springfield after taking out-of-town trips.
“I was inspired by the European flower stands,” says Cassie.
“I was living in Nashville last summer and there was a flower truck in Nashville I was obsessed with it,” says Eden.
For Eden, her truck started as a hypothetical class project at Drury.
“After Nashville, I needed a senior seminar capstone project, so this is what it was, a hypothetical business, a flower truck.”
Now it’s a Garden of Eden full of daffodils, ranunculus…
Cassie says she just wants to please people with the simple arrangements in life.
“I’m trying to make it easier for people to have everyday flowers, it doesn’t have to be some big pre-arranged bouquet.”
“While doing my research I found out guys feel really uncomfortable in two places, lingerie shops, and flower stores. I wanted something more guy friendly and just come inside and not feel intimidated,” says Eden.
Both are glad to be part of the local business community.
“Local businesses are supportive of each other it’s very much a community. I think the support from all the businesses is amazing,” says Cassie.
You can find Ozark Mtn. Flowers stationed at the Farmers Market on Commercial Street and Eden’s Flower Truck will be mainly stationed at Farmers Park. Prices are comparable to other florists in the area, a typical bouquet at Ozark Mtn. Flowers is about $10 and Eden’s Flower Truck works on a customer’s price range.
