FLIPPIN, Ark. — A high school student in Flippin, Arkansas is charged in juvenile court with communicating a false alarm, after a school shooting threat to Mountain Home Public Schools was phoned in Tuesday.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Flippin police say someone called Marion County 9-1-1 Tuesday afternoon, claiming someone was enroute to Mountain Home schools to “shoot it up.”
The 9-1-1 call was traced to a spot near Flippin High School. Police searched the area and turned up a juvenile, who admitted he made the call as a “prank”.
He was charged with communicating a false alarm.
Marion County and Mountain Home authorities say at this time, there is no known threat to any of our local schools.
