CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo- A man from Illinois died yesterday morning when his boat started sinking at Lake of the Ozarks.
The boat was heading southwest at the time. Rick Steffey, 48-years-old, was operating the boat. A witness saw the boat sink with Steffey still inside it. The witness say Steffey try to swim to a break water.
Steffey was from Homer, Illinois and was taken to Hedges Funeral Home in Camdenton.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time until officials can recover the boat. This is the first boating fatality for MSHP Troop F in 2016.
