PLEASANT HOPE, Mo. — Multiple rural fire departments from Greene and Polk County fought a house fire just southwest of Pleasant Hope over the noon-hour Monday, that heavily damaged the home.

Greg Wood, public information officer for the Pleasant Hope Fire Protection District, says the people living in the house on E. 546th Road got out of the house.  The fire was reported about 11:15 a.m.

Wood says it appears the fire started in the chimney, then spread to the rest of the home.  Fire engines from Morrisville, Ebenezer, Fair Grove, Strafford, Logan-Rogersville and Central Polk County joined Pleasant Hope crews in trucking in water to the scene.

No injuries were reported.  Fire crews remained on the scene as of 1:00 p.m.
