Fire Department Raises Money for Muscular Dystrophy Association

Make It Count

BRANSON, Mo. — Since 1954, fire departments across the nation have raised money each Labor Day weekend for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

It’s no different here in the Ozarks.

Sunday night, members of the Southern Stone-County Fire-Protection District filled the boot at Echo Hollow before the Southern Gospel-Concert at Silver Dollar City.

The department is one of 69 across the Ozarks raising money for life-saving treatments for patients with neuro-muscular diseases.

Last year, firefighters across the Ozarks raised $250,000 for local patients.

Our own David Oliver was proud to be on hand to help emcee the campaign at Silver Dollar City.
