OXLEY, Ark. — A fire that started outside a charcoal plant in Searcy County, Arkansas is now raging out of control, according to the county Sheriff’s Department.

Dispatchers say the fire was reported about midnight at the Royal Oak plant on Highway 66 north of Leslie, Arkansas.

High winds have whipped the flames, spreading them into the surrounding woods.

Fire departments from Searcy, Van Buren and Stone Counties are fighting the fire.  No injuries had been reported.

Dispatchers say the Arkansas Forestry Department also has firefighting teams on the scene and plan to fly fire suppression planes overhead after daylight.

KOLR10 News has a crew enroute to the fire and will have updates as they become available.
