FAIRVIEW, Mo. – Midway Fire Protection responded to dispatch calls at 5 a.m. from neighbors who heard a loud boom.
A two-story home collapsed and remnants were on-fire upon arrival. Owners of the home are out of town and no one was injured.
“We had great mutual aid. Midway was a primary, we had help from Granby, Pierce City, Stella and even Neosho brought a tanker out,” said Chief James Palmer, Midway Fire Protection District Chief.
Fire crews contained the flames shortly after arrival and continued to put out smoking debris for several hours.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but state fire marshals have begun an investigation.
