Eminence Police ask residents with security systems to tell them for community safety reasons

News

EMINENCE, MO – One local law enforcement group is taking a new approach to keeping its community safer.

The Eminence Police Department is asking its residents to let them know if you have a security system in your home or business. Police say this will help them in multiple ways.

Compiling a list of these places with security systems helps police search an area if there is a major incident, they can also gather vehicle and suspect descriptions from video surveillance. Police said none of the personal information will be shared.

The department also says you will only be contacted if your system might have captured something that could help with an investigation. They also clarified that you will never be required to turn over anything captured on your security system if they reach out to you for this reason.
