SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Friday night, international students at Drury University were able to experience an American tradition: Thanksgiving dinner.
The annual event is a way to bridge the cultural gap for students visiting America from other countries who don’t know what Thanksgiving is.
Turkey, potatoes, pies and all the fixings were served.
All students were invited to attend and given the opportunity to stand and express what they’re thankful for this year.
“This is really about what every Thanksgiving is about,” Madeline Smith, member of International Student Association at Drury, said. “Coming together, celebrating the holiday, what you appreciate about your life and also about teaching different culture about what we have in America.”
