SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Great Southern Bank in central Springfield was robbed Tuesday afternoon and police are searching for the suspect.
According to Springfield police spokesperson Lisa Cox and the FBI, a man entered the bank at 3:45 p.m. on 331 South Ave. and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller gave the man cash and he fled on foot southbound.
He did not display a weapon.
The man is described as:
- Lone White Male
- Approximately 55 years of age
- Approximately 6’2″ and 250 lbs.
- White rubber gloves
- Light blue, possibly denim, ball cap
- Black sunglasses
- Tan pants
- Blue shirt
The FBI is investigating.
