Dog Shot Case Inspires new Missouri House Bill Proposal

News

ST. JOSEPH, Mo — A horrific animal abuse case out of the Kansas City area may have started a movement.

Just over a week ago, someone shot a female pit bull in the face multiple times, then left her to die.

The dog survived and is now being cared for by a foster family.

Mushroom hunters found her in the woods in St. Joeseph after hearing 2 gunshots.

The lawyers want to change Missouri’s law – so abusers would be listed online in an animal cruelty registry.

Lawmakers proposed a house bill which would turn what’s now a misdemeanor animal abuse charge into a felony… As of right now– the bill has not made it to a committee.
