Dixon Man Killed in Single-Car Crash

PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Dixon, Missouri, died Saturday afternoon after his vehicle ran off the road around 4:20 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol online crash report.

Nicholas Howe, 31, was driving southbound on Highway 133 about five miles north of Dixon when he didn’t negotiate a curve, went off the right side of the road and overcorrected. According to the report, he then crossed over the center line and went off the left side of the road, hitting a tree.

The Maries County coroner pronounced Howe dead at 5:25 p.m.

It’s not known if Howe was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.

This was Troop I’s third fatality in September and the 21st fatality in 2017.
