SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Dozens of people gathered at Patton Alley Pub in downtown Springfield for the kickoff of the Democratic Progressive Party Caucus.
Several candidates for Springfield’s representative attended this afternoon in hopes to win the next round of elections.
Democratic Rep. Crystal Quade is also up for reelection.
The party says the event is to get people excited the progressive caucus and to inform people about political issues in Missouri.
“One thing is racial equity across the land,” said Cori Bush, a District 1 Democratic candidate. “You know we have to have that health care is important, making sure every body has health care. Mental health services. A livable wage is necessary right here in missouri as we know.”
