Cruse Dog Park Celebrates 10th Anniversary

News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Cruse Dog Park is officially 10 years old.

To celebrate, dog owners gathered at the park for fun and treats.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, dozens of canines of all kinds came together to celebrate and play. Jeff Putman with Springfield Park Board says they have seen their memberships grow steadily over the years.

“We have close to 900 active members right now and we’ve had several thousand throughout the ten years,” Putman said. “Right now we have a lot of regulars who are out here every day and we have some people who are out here on the weekends.”

“After he sniffs everybody, he kind of goes off on his own. not sure he knows how to play with other dogs but he enjoys it. he knows what I mean when I say ‘I’m going to the dog park.'”

Including the $25 annual fee, owners must provide proof of vaccination to register their dog at the park.
