City of Springfield says Computer Servers are Down

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The City of Springfield is experiencing a computer problem which may slow some daily work processes.

The city says the servers that authenticate employee usernames and passwords are down.

It doesn’t impact 911 or other emergency responses, but officers in the field will have to hand-write reports for now.  Other backup “paper processes” will need to be used too.

The city says Microsoft is handling this as a critical outage and they hope to restore the servers soon.
