OZARK, Mo.– Synergy Recovery Center was granted approval by a Christian County board Wednesday afternoon to build a men’s recovery center in Ozark.

The board granted approval under three conditions:

  1. No more than 10 clients or occupants at a time
  2. Clients or occupants must pass a background check
  3. An automated external defibrillator(AED) must be present in the building

The Christian County Board of Adjustment members comprised of Ralph Phillips, Ray Weter, and Hosea Bilyeu voted 2-1 in approval. Phillips was the no vote.

Christian County Sheriff Brad Cole said it could take between two and twenty minutes for a medical or emergency response to the center.

Nearby residential property owners are concerned about violence occurring at the center.

We’ll have more on this story along with reaction from nearby property owners on KOLR10 News this evening.
