SPRINGFIELD, Mo- The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is urging donors with type O Negative blood to donate this week.
CBCO says their reserve levels for the universal blood type are at less than 20% of what is needed.
If you have this blood type, you can donate at blood drives or at a donor center. CBCO says high usage rates at area hospitals, combined with a less than normal donor turnout at recent drives, have combined to reduce reserve levels.
CBCO has four donation centers in the area. If you need more information on blood donation or would like to find a blood drive near you, visit www.cbco.org.
