POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — The Capitol Christmas tree’s on its way to Washington, D.C. ….but it made a stop in the the Missouri Bootheel.
Wednesday it was at the Poplar Bluff Menard’s store for all to see.
“I tell you what, it’s real exciting, it’s almost like opening up the first Christmas present you know for this year but, I found it very exciting and I wouldn’t have missed it,” said Karen Summers of Van Buren, Missouri.
The Tree is making several more stops along the way to its final destination, which is the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
The tree traditionally comes from a different U.S. forest each year. This year’s tree is from Montana.
