FAIR GROVE, Mo. — Friends and family gathered in Fair Grove Park tonight to honor the memory of 2-year-old Kinzlea Kilgore.
“We’re just celebrating Kinzlea’s life to spread awareness for child abuse and hopefully change the way to system works because the system failed Kinzlea,”
Over 100 people attended the event, wearing shirts and ribbons honoring the toddler.
It started with a prayer, then focused on child abuse.
Last month police arrived at a residence in Buffalo to find Kinzlea dead inside.
The girl’s 25-year-old mother was arrested and questioned but later released.
Charges of child abuse and endangering a child were pending but have yet to be filed.
Her death is still under investigation.
