Camdenton House Fire

CAMDENTON, Mo. – An early morning fire in Camdenton has destroyed a home.

The Mid-County Fire Protection District responded to a house fire on 255 Cottage Drive off of State Route D shortly before two this morning. Once on scene firefighters discovered a detached garage and adjacent home fully involved with fire. The detached garage had collapsed as well.

Firefighters battled cold conditions which caused numerous pieces of equipment to freeze, but were able to bring the fire under control in about one hour.

The occupants of the home were able to escape safely. The only injury occurred when a firefighter fell through a collapsed floor. He was treated on scene and returned to service.

Both the home and detached garage are considered a total loss.

The Fire Marshall is investigating the fire, but it is not considered suspicious.
