Branson Police Arrest man Linked to Several Commercial Burglaries


BRANSON, Mo – The Branson Police Department has arrested a man connected to several recent burglaries in the area. 

Branson Police started receiving an unusual amount of commercial burglary calls around April 7th. 

According to a press release, upon investigation, the majority had the same method of operation by the suspect to gain entry to the businesses. The police department analyzed the reports and increased patrols in an effort to catch the burglar. 

Later around May 1st, officers found 33-year old Christopher Steven Stowell behind a closed business with a bag of burglar tools.

Branson PD says Stowell was found to be in possession of stolen property ultimately linking him to eleven commercial burglaries and three acts of stealing from a vehicle. Four more commercial burglaries are still under investigation.

Stowell is homeless and was living out of his vehicle. Charges have been filed and warrants have been issued for the charges of:

  • Possession Of Controlled Substance 
  • Three counts of 2nd-degree burglary
  • Two counts of stealing 
  • 2nd Degree attempted burglary
  • Stealing – $750 Or More 

Stowell is in custody of the Taney County Sheriff.
