BRANSON, Mo- Branson Alderwoman Betsy Seay will be resigning from the Board of Aldermen.
Her last day in office will be September 1, 2018. Mayor Karen Best read a resignation letter from Seay at Tuesday night’s Board of Aldermen meeting.
Seay has served on the board, representing Ward III for 2 1/2 Years. Due to moving out of her district, according to City code, Seay can no longer serve on the board.
In her resignation letter, Seay said, “It has been an honor to serve the people of Branson for the last two and a half years. Thank you to all of you who believed in me and trusted me to do the right thing even though it was difficult.”
Applications will be made available for any full-time resident of Ward III. According to State statute, the Mayor will choose a name from the applicant list and that applicant will need to be approved by the Board of Aldermen. The applicant’s term will run until the next official election, which is April 2, 2019.
Applications will officially open September 4, 2018, and will be open for two weeks. Those interested in applying can find applications starting September 4, online and at Branson City Hall.
