Box Office Buzz – June 9, 2016

News

A hot weekend ahead, maybe time for a cool movie theater? New offerings this week include a movie based on a popular video game.  Here’s a preview with Chris the Critic in this week’s Box Office Buzz.

New on the big screen this week:
WARCRAFT – (UNIVERSAL) This release stems from a video game!  A peaceful realm stands on the brink war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders.  At one point, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell were once associated with starring AND the late great Sam Raimi directing.

NOW YOU SEE ME TOO – (LIONSGATE/SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT) The Four Horsemen resurface and are forcibly recruited by a tech genius to pull off their most impossible heist yet.  I LOVED the first one!  A third installment of the Now You See Me franchise was announced over a year before THIS movie.

THE CONURING 2 –  (NEW LINE CINEMA)  Lorraine and Ed Warren travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits.  You can go very many weeks without a fright fest in the mix!

New on Blu-Ray:
The worst release this year is, ZOOLANDER 2!  Well, HAIL, CAESAR, IS a very close second.  This is a bum deal due to the fact that I really love George Clooney and I love the Cohen Brothers’ films  … so, ZOOTOPIA, is your best bet on Blu-Ray this week!  I love that sloth so much!
