SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Cardinals fans have another good reason to bleed red.
They can support their team and give the gift of life at the same time Monday and Tuesday.
A blood drive at the Tomson Donor Center is underway.
It comes with plenty of treats.
Participants will receive two free tickets to the Cardinals game against Royals affiliate, Northwest Arkansas, complimentary hot dogs, chips and Coke are available, plus a free Cardinals t-shirt.
Over the course of a year, blood centers need about 230 donations per day.
Promotional events like the Bleed Red Blood Drive is a way the center meets those numbers
“We are just having a celebration here of baseball, of summertime and of saving lives and this drive is great for that. Summertime is blood shortage time and whatever we can do in the summer to get people to come in to give and breakup their summer schedule we will try to do and we’ve got it today with a great deal of prizes and we will continue again on Tuesday,” Chris Pilgrim, media relations representative with Community Blood Center, said.
Your last chance to donate and get tickets is tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the blood center.
