SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Bernie Sanders supporters were “feeling the Bern” in Springfield Tuesday night.

A watch party took place at the local Bernie Sanders Campaign Headquarters in downtown Springfield.

It was a tight race.

Many Bernie supporters at the watch party were able to attend his rally in Springfield Saturday and say they were very impressed by the way he carried himself– saying maybe that could’ve been the deciding factor for local voters who may have been on the fence between him and Hillary.

“We’re really excited about today,” said Bernie Sanders Campaign Volunteer Carrie Brauch-Sauer.  “The momentum has been building– and ever since the Iowa caucus, there’s been a shift in the Midwest.  When we won Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska– Missourians for Bernie really felt there was genuine hope here– so tonight, we are really feeling that .”

“I very much support Bernie because I see him as someone with a lot of integrity,” said Bernie Supporter Brett Leeper.  “And he’s our best shot at fixing various systemic issues plaguing our democracy– like campaign finance and economic justice.”
