BELLA VISTA, Ark. — Bella Vista community members are expressing their opinions about construction projects in Benton County.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation is replacing bridges on Highway 340 over Little Sugar and Tanyard Creeks.
Both bridges are old and have various maintenance problems that cost the state money.
ARDOT already has plans for the projects, but just wants to make sure those impacted are on the same page.
“Get input from the public, get their thoughts on it, to see if there’s anything that we haven’t thought about, if there’s any particular concerns that we’re not aware of, and to just gather information,” Steve Lawrence, district engineer with ARDOT, said.
Both replacements are estimated to end in 2020.
They’ll be funded by federal grant money.
More meetings may be scheduled later, depending on what officials gathered Friday night.
