Battlefield Fire Protection District Announces New Fire Chief

News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Battlefield Fire Protection District officially has a new leader and one of the district’s stations is now better equipped to keep people safe.

Jarett Metheny was officially sworn in as Fire Chief, a position he has held had since June 12.

Metheny is new to the Ozarks but says he’s eager to get to know the area.

“Just really excited to join the committed group of men and women at the Battlefield protection district and the entire region from an emergency services aspect is top notch and I am very excited to be a part of that program,” Metheny said.

In the same ceremony,  Fire Station Four, just off Campbell Avenue and Plainview Road, was rededicated.

The rededication is meant to celebrate improvements that will give firefighters more space and will help the station run more efficiently.

The changes also helped the department keep a promise to citizens — to lower insurance rates.
