Autopsy Ordered on Woman Found Dead in Walmart Parking Lot

LEBANON, Mo. — Authorities in Lebanon have ordered an autopsy on the body of a woman found in a parking lot in Lebanon Wednesday night.

The Lebanon Police Department says officers were called by an ambulance crew to the Walmart on S. Jefferson just before 11:00 p.m., after a woman was found dead inside a car on the lot.

The body of Jerri Harris, 54, of Lebanon was inside her sedan, with blood around her mouth, nose and ears.  Officers also say there was a large pool of blood on the ground under the driver’s side door, on the steering wheel and on the passenger seat where she was lying.

Investigators say surveillance video from Walmart shows Harris going into the Walmart with a man, then later coming out and going back to the car.  The man was later detained for shoplifting.
Surveillance video also shows Harris’ car, with no one approaching or leaving it after she got back inside.

Laclede County Coroner Steve Murrell did not find any obvious injuries or wounds, according to a news release from Lebanon police. Investigators say there currently is no sign of foul play.
The autopsy is scheduled Friday in Springfield.
