LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas General Assembly is wrapping up its session.
During this session, lawmakers passed more than 800 new laws.
Two representatives spoke out on the progress that was made throughout the 87-day session.
“I’m very proud of the fact that, I feel, we were very efficient,” Rep. Matthew Shepherd (R), Speaker of the House said. “We’ve done the people’s work and we were able to do so in a fairly limited amount of time.”
“I’ve been really grateful for more conservative members in the House who’ve been willing to engage in that dialogue and say, ‘hey, we may not agree on everything, but let’s find common ground, find a way to either stop, or push something forward,” Rep. Megan Godfrey, (D) Springdale said.
