Arraignment Date Set for Man Charged in Shooting of Clinton Cop

CLINTON, Mo. — Ian McCarthy, the man charged with first-degree murder in the death of Clinton police officer Gary Michael, had his arraignment date set on Friday.

According to the circuit clerk office, McCarthy waived his preliminary hearing and is now bound over to circuit court for a Jan. 22 arraignment.

McCarthy also faces charges of armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm. 

In August, McCarthy pled not guilty.
