LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ark.– A stranded hunter in Lawrence County, Arkansas is now safe after falling off his climbing stand Sunday morning.

According to officials, the hunter was hanging by his safety harness about 20 feet in the air for more than an hour before he called for help.

The hunter told rescuers his climbing stand had fallen from underneath him.

After the call, responders located his boat along the Black River near Tucker Bay.

That led them to the stranded hunter.

Officials say they were able to get him down from the tree uninjured.

The hunter traveled by boat back to the Dixie Lee access where he was greeted by family members.
