FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A unique holiday display in northwest Arkansas draws a lot of visitors each year, and is growing in popularity.
The lighting of the Stewart family Christmas light display has become a fun filled event for the entire family to enjoy in Fayetteville.
The Stewart family has decorated their entire yard for the community for just about over a decade.
What started with 3,000 lights and three inflatibles has expanded to 370,000 lights and over 250 inflatables.
Residents say this has become a family tradition and they look forward to seeing the new additions each year.
“We”ve been coming here for many years now and we drive by on the way home.. we go out of our way just to see the lights everyday that we can so. Its become like a family tradition”
By the end of the holiday season the Stewarts say over 5,000 people will have visited their home throughout the holiday season.
In hopes of attracting a larger crowd the family created a Facebook page to help spread the word.
This is Kyleigh McCurin’s first time to see the display. “We heard that this was gonna be one of the best places to see Christmas lights off of Facebook and everybody was saying that its like one of the greatest places. We thought that we might as well come over here and see whats new.”
The display isn’t all about lights, kids can meet Santa Clause and even play in one of three snow machines. Terran Mizell says visiting the Stewart light display is one of his favorite winter activities. “I went in the snow over there and I heard the Christmas Miracle. It was super awesome and I love it!”
