Arkansas Dentist Keeping Candy Off the Streets Sends it to Troops

News

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS — A dentist in Northwest Arkansas has a creative way to keep candy off the streets and bring smiles to our troops overseas.

Jeff Ward Pediatric Dentistry in Fayetteville will give patients a dollar for every pound of candy you drop off at their office.

The candy will be boxed up and sent to troops overseas.

Dr. Ward also encourages kids to write letters to go along with the candy.

“It helps get a lot of candy off the streets for kids to bring it back here and also to support our troops,” Julie Partain, dental assistant, said.

Last year alone, the dental office collected 535 pounds of candy and 90 letters.
