Arkansas Church Van Driver Arrested in Teen Rape Case

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A Decatur, Ark. church van driver was arrested after authorities say he raped a 13-year-old girl multiple times. 

The Decatur Police Department said Ulises Moreno, 30, was booked into the Benton County Detention Center on Wednesday and faces a charge of rape. 

The victim told authorities Moreno had raped her multiple times since the age of 11. Court documents state on one occasion Moreno gave the victim a letter that said, “Stay home and pretend to sleep. I’m going to [expletive] you.” 

Police learned Moreno drove a church van for the Decatur Assembly of God and allegedly had raped the victim in that van, court documents state. 

The investigation into Moreno began in April, and he was arrested on Wednesday. His bond was set at $50,000, jail records state. 

Those jail records also state Moreno has bonded out of jail, and his next court appearance is set for December 18.
