PIKE COUNTY, Ar. — A tragic construction accident claims the life of a man in southwest Arkansas.
An 85-year-old man died after he was run over by a bulldozer.
That’s according to information from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and Southwest Arkansas Radio.
It happened near the town of Newhope.
We’re told the man — Estes “Buster” Dennis — was on a worksite building hen houses.
While operating the bulldozer he tried driving over a mound of dirt, which then caused the bulldozer to rise up almost vertical.
The bulldozer came down, knocking Estes from the seat, but the machine kept moving forward — onto Dennis — then kept moving forward for another 75 feet.
Dennis died at the scene.
