7-Year-Old Spreads Love by Hugging Cops

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield Police Department responded to a one-of-a-kind call Monday morning at its headquarters.

It might’ve been the cutest call it has ever gotten – a call for hugs.

Rosalyn, 7, has made it her mission to travel around the country giving hugs to law enforcement.

She says her goal is to unite communities by showing her appreciation for the people who protect our nation.

“Because they’re kind and loving and they fight back,” Rosalyn said.

She had stickers for everyone.

Rosalyn is about one-fourth of the way through her goal of visiting all fifty states.

She says she visited Springfield because , “this place has a lot of police officers and abulances and fire fighters here.”

The smiles give it away – the department was certainly happy to have her.

She met with officers Monday morning to meet Squad 16 and check out their armored Bearcat, according to a news release from Public Affairs Officer Lisa Cox.

Her mission is to, “journey throughout the country as a beacon of light, love and joy,” according to her website.

Rosalyn’s visited places like Tennessee, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Florida.

Next up, she’ll head to Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois.

Check out her Facebook page and website for more information.
