MARSHFIELD, Mo. — Two workers installing spray-in foam insulation at a warehouse in Marshfield today (1/22/18) were taken to a Springfield hospital with injuries suffered in an explosion and fire at National Entertainment Technologies
Marshfield Fire Chief Michael Taylor said the two were hurt when the blast occurred about 10 a.m.at the site in the 18000 block of East 39th Street.
Volatile chemicals used in the installation set the truck on fire and the blaze spread to the building nearby, he said. Damage to the business, which manufactures plastic eggs for toys or candy, was minor, but the insulation company truck was destroyed, Taylor said.
A hazardous materials team from Logan Rogersville Fire Protections District was called in to assess contamination hazards, but dangerous material had mostly burned up in the fire, he said, and a cleanup company from Springfield was called to deal with residual materials.
