1860s Lifestyle Expo Brings the Past to Life

News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The past came to life Saturday at the Gray-Campbell Farmstead.

Volunteers wearing Civil War-era garb demonstrated the lifestyle of the 1860s.

They told the story of pre-20th century living through music, crafts and tours of a historic building.

Organizers say the event brings in around 1,000 kids a year to learn about life on the Kickapoo prairie.
