SOUTHWEST MISSOURI – On this date 15 years ago, parts of the southwest and central Missouri landscape was drastically changed.
Supercell thunderstorms produced at least 15 tornadoes that resulted in extensive damage and 25 deaths. The hardest hit areas were Stockton, Pierce City and Camdenton.
Several of the tornadoes tracked long distances ranging from 15 to 80 miles.
More than 3,000 homes and businesses were damaged by the tornadoes.
