Hello, Ozarks! I’m Heather Lewis. I anchor the 5,6,9, and 10 PM news with David Oliver. Thank you for welcoming me into your home!
I came to KOLR10 in July 2015 to anchor Daybreak. For two years, I caught you up on news you needed to know before heading out the door to start your day.
The Ozarks is a beautiful region and I’m thrilled to be living here. I’m no stranger to the area. I grew up in Alma, Arkansas, a small town just outside of Fort Smith. I often made trips to Branson during the summer. I graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
It was during my internship at KFSM in Fort Smith that I fell in love with the fast pace of the newsroom.
Prior to KOLR, I anchored the morning show at KFSM for three years. Before that, I was a reporter at KFSM.
In my spare time, I love being with my husband, Curt, a Missouri State alum, our sons, Benjamin and Joseph, and two beagle-mix dogs, Albert and Charlie. I’m a huge Cardinals fan, so you’ll likely see me in the stands at Hammons Field, cheering for the Springfield Cardinals. I also enjoy running, exploring, discovering kid-friendly activities, bargain hunting, trying new restaurants, and just getting involved in the community.
In honor of my father who died from brain cancer in 2015, I am a committee member of the Grey Matters Fund of SWMO. Founded in 2014 under the Cox Health Foundation, the Grey Matters Fund raises and distributes funds to assist patients suffering from brain cancer, tumors, aneurysms and other traumatic brain injuries in SWMO.
