Hello, Ozarks! My name is Hannah Zettl and I am so excited to be your new Daybreak reporter. I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, but I am no stranger to the Ozarks. I have visited my family in Branson every summer since I can remember! My favorite thing about this area is how kind the residents are, everyone greets each other with a friendly smile.

Journalism has been my passion since high school, where I first gained broadcast experience. I graduated college a year early with my degree in journalism and political science at Illinois State University. During my years at ISU, I served as treasurer then president of its chapter of the Illinois News Broadcasters Association. I also gained reporting experience at the school newspaper, radio and TV stations. It was through these experiences that I was nominated for two Emmy awards in categories for best General Assignment News Reporting and Arts & Culture Reporting. I was also fortunate enough to accept a scholarship from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which covered the tuition cost of my senior year.

I also learned about the industry through valuable internships with a Fox Sports Radio affiliate in the Chicago area, and at ABC NewsOne in Washington, D.C. During my summer at the capitol, I interviewed business owners at the White House, lawmakers on Capitol Hill and MLB players at the All-Star Game. I experienced news at the network level when I attended press briefings at the White House and Pentagon. I greatly appreciate that time in my life, as I bring those lessons with me to the Ozarks!

In my free time you can find me on Table Rock Lake, poorly performing at the driving range or watching a funny movie!
