Hello Ozarks! I’m Chris Six (yes my last name really is a number), the newest member of the KOLR 10 Daybreak team as a reporter/producer.
I grew up about an hour southwest of here in Joplin, MO and have traveled up I-44 to Springfield and have been up here for nearly five years because of college. I graduated from MSU with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
I love working at KOLR 10. I have been working here for a little over four years now starting from the bottom as a part-time production assistant in the studio to a web producer, then photojournalist, and now reporter!
With all of those positions I’ve learned a lot, met some great people, and helped tell amazing stories about you guys in the Ozarks. With this new opportunity, I hope to share more of your stories, and experience what the Ozarks has to offer.
When I’m off the clock I love to spend time with my two pups, Arlo & Remi. Arlo is a red-heeler mix and Remi is shepherd mix of some sort. Being a doggy daddy is one of the best things ever.
I also love music, I play a little variety of instruments from mainly bass guitar to ukulele and of course, I love listening to music. Ask anyone from the station and they’ll agree. I am an avid vinyl collector and enthusiast. My favorite band is The Beach Boys, I have just about every album of theirs on vinyl and have seen them in concert a few times.
One of my favorite things to do is travel, there’s just so much to explore out there whether it’s a small day road trip to a random town in the middle of nowhere, to the lake, or driving cross-country to the coasts (specifically the West Coast, it’s the best).
I strive to do my work with 100% effort as well as being friendly towards others. One of my goals in life is to bring a smile to whomever I meet, so if you see me out and about in Springfield or road tripping to a place near you, come say hi! If you have a story idea you want to be shared shoot me an email or a message!
