Cloudy and cool for some today, while others saw sunshine and warmer temperatures.  A weakening storm is slowly clearing out of areas to the south.  Lingering clouds and light showers once again made for unusually cool conditions as we close out the month of July.  Temperatures were cool enough to threaten record low highs across Northern Arkansas, but some late afternoon clearing is pushing temperatures just above the records in most spots.

Clearing skies tonight will lead to a cooler night for some areas tonight, and also the likelihood of some fog after midnight.  Visibilities could be low to start out the day Friday, but the fog will lift giving way to mostly sunny skies by afternoon.  Sunnier conditions will mean warmer temperatures with highs in the mid 80s in most areas.  A passing disturbance could generate a few isolated showers across the Eastern Ozarks.

The weekend looks beautiful.  Dry air will cover the region, and this will lead to mostly clear skies both days.  Overnight temperatures will be comfortably cool and afternoon highs will be comfortably warm with the lack of humidity.

The trough that has kept the Eastern U.S. so cool this week will lift out by Monday with a bit of a ridge replacing it in the mid section of the country.  This will bring summer temperatures back to the Ozarks with highs back around 90°.  The quick burst of heat will be quickly followed by another front by Thursday.  Some rain and slightly cooler temperatures will accompany the front.
