Beautiful today! Storm chances return late Tuesday & Wednesday

Beautiful today! Storm chances return late Tuesday & Wednesday ---

High-pressure noses in from the north today. Easterly wind, lots of sunshine, and not as humid -- it will be beautiful! Highs will be warm in the upper 70's and low/ middle 80's, forecasting 83 degrees for Springfield!

Mostly clear skies remain tonight with lows in the middle to upper 50's.

Tomorrow we'll spend the day with increasing clouds and a breezy south wind ahead of a developing low-pressure center to the east. Skies start sunny and turn partly to mostly cloudy, southerly winds gust to 30 mph. Highs will be warm again despite the cloud cover, going for lower 80's again.

We'll be dry all day with showers and storms developing late in the evening and overnight. A cold front sets up with some wind energy in the lower levels of the atmosphere and instability (fuel for storms). With that, a few storms could be strong to severe Tuesday night, mainly with the threat for large hail and damaging winds.

The threat pushes to the east on Wednesday as the warm front drapes through the Ozarks. A few storms could continue through the afternoon on Wednesday, but the severe threat will be limited to the eastern Ozarks towards St. Louis. Any storms that do become strong will again hold the threat of large hail and damaging winds.

Highs on Wednesday stay warm in the middle 80's.

By Thursday the path of storminess hangs north, I think most of the Ozarks stays dry, a stray storm is possible in central Missouri. Expect partly cloudy skies and a breezy south wind, warm highs in the middle 80's.

A few clouds linger on Friday, breezy south wind and warm 80's stick around.

Saturday looks breezy, warm, and sunny ahead of an approaching cold front. Sunshine with highs of 86 on Saturday, chance of storms on Sunday.
