Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Friday to Saturday

SOUTHWEST MISSOURI – A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in effect from 4 a.m. Friday to noon on Saturday, Feb. 1.

According to the National Weather Service, light ice is expected by Friday morning and will continue intermittently into Saturday.

Snow and sleet accumulations of up to an inch can not be ruled out for locations along and north of Hwy. 54. Ice accumulations of one-tenth of an inch or less are forecasted for the time period.

Major impacts to road surfaces cannot be ruled out for the Friday morning commute, according to the National Weather Service. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities.
