NIXA, Mo. – The Nixa Police Department is investigating an attempted child abduction Wednesday afternoon.

According to Nixa Spokesperson Jill Finney, at 2:48 p.m. a Nixa resident reported someone attempted to abduct her 6-year-old daughter.

The girl reportedly told her mom that a female driving a red mini-van got out of her vehicle and tried to grab her while she was playing in her front yard on Montclair Way.

The girl bit the suspect on the arm and ran away.

According to Finney, the van was last seen heading east on North St. near Old Castle.

The suspect is described as a white female, wearing a yellow shirt with blue polka dots.
