GREENE COUNTY, Mo. – The National Weather Service confirmed a brief tornado touched down in Greene County Monday morning.
Afternoon temperatures around the Ozarks are in the low to mid 70s today. There is a slight chance of a shower today, although most stay dry. The higher chances are northeast of Springfield during the late afternoon and evening hours. A shower is possible through the area overnight tonight. Temperatures warm by midweek, and we're looking at highs back near 80 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday.

MISSOURI -- Severe weather that swept through Missouri Wednesday might be seen as a precursor for storms now moving through the state.
The heat goes on again today, as the upper level ridge continues to dominate our weather pattern. We're under a Heat Advisory through 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Highs will approach 100 degrees and heat indices will be near 105 degrees during the mid afternoon hours.

Showers and storms will move into the Ozarks this morning. The storms won't be severe but lightning and heavy rain will be the biggest threats. High pressure builds back in later tonight and this will help keep Friday and Saturday almost perfect. Lots of sunshine with highs in the upper 70s/low 80s. A disturbance comes in on Father's Day but most of the rain will be north of I-44.
More storms are expected tonight as the cold front becomes more stationary and some disturbances move along that boundary. That stationary front will linger for the next few days helping to create storm chances through the weekend.
