Zoo's Spooktacular Opens This Weekend

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- We're joined now by Melinda Arnold from the Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield to tell us about the Halloween Spooktacular that starts this weekend.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield opens it's annual Halloween Spooktacular this weekend.

The zoo will be open at night for little ghosts and goblins to visit treat stations throughout the grounds.  This is not a typical visit to the zoo, Arnold points out.  Many of the animals won't be in view.  Some will be bedded down for the night or in barns to stay warm.  A few may be out in reptile exhibit and petting zoo but most will avoid the night lighting set up around the animal habitats.
