Young Man Dies After Hit and Run in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A young man is dead tonight after being hit by a car while riding his bike. Now, police are trying to figure out who is responsible.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man in his twenties is dead tonight after a hit and run in Springfield and police are trying to track down who is responsible.

It happened around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bear and Kimbrough.

Lieutenant Scott Umbarger with the Springfield Police Department says a white car was traveling south on Kimbrough when the driver hit a young man on his bicycle.

The driver of that white car then drove off and police say they have no other description of the vehicle except the fact that it's white.

The street was blocked off for a few hours.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
