SALEM, Mo. -- A yellow lab receiving national attention has been found safe and sound

Phineas, the yellow lab who went missing from the vet's office has been located, the family's attorney reports.

The dog was incarcerated for over a year for allegedly biting a 7-year-old girl.

His case received national attention and even made appearances on Inside Edition in July.

Phineas went missing from a Salem veterinary clinic sometime between the time the clinic closed Friday, October 11 to the time they opened on October 12th.

Joe Simon, the attorney who represents the family Phineas belongs to, announced about an hour ago that Phineas has been located and is safe.

According to Simon, Phineas was dropped off at a "safe house" and the family was able to reunite with him.

A Dent County judge ruled on Friday, Oct. 25, that Phineas should not be euthanized for allegedly biting the girl and is now free.
